Brynlee Anne

Here are some more pictures. A few of you asked why she went into NICU in the first place. After she was born she had a hard time breathing and that night she was really struggling and they had to take her to NICU for respiratory distress. Also...our little girl was born with only 4 fingers on each hand. Being born without thumbs is extremely rare, especially in girls. Because of her trouble breathing and her thumbs...a lot of other tests needed to be run. That is why she had all the ultrasounds and blood testing. A lot of times if you are born without thumbs there can be a heart defect as well. Lucky for Bryn her heart looks fine. We put a picture of her hand below. I didn't want to put the other one up just yet. I was the first one to notice that she didn't have thumbs when the dr. placed her on my stomach. It was totally unexpected and the dr. was even totally shocked.
Kenna came up with me on Wednesday and read books!
This is her left hand. She is missing her thumb. Well at least we think it is her thumb right now. We will have to wait until the orthopedic dr.'s can evaluate it to tell us if she is missing her thumb or a finger.

She was trying to wake up!
Poor Bryn had to have oxygen in her nose and a feeding tube down her throat. Luckily it wasn't in there for too long. They took it out on Thursday afternoon!

I love the dark hair, at least it looks dark. And that picture of her sleeping is so sweet. She looks so different in each picture that I can't tell who she looks like yet.

Jenny, she is so cute. I LOVE the one of her sleeping, so sweet. The one where she is trying to open her eyes I think she looks just like Tyler. So do you think she looks like Makenna looked as a newborn or do they look different? I sure hope she gets to come home soon, that's got to be rough on you going back and forth to the hospital. Is your mom staying longer than expected or is she still going home tomorrow? Thanks for the pics and updates. I think she is so precious and beautiful and I'm glad you chose Brynlee for the name. I really like it a lot.
