25!

Last Saturday was my 25th Birthday! I know...I have been married for 6 years, have a 3.5 year old daughter and an 11 month old daughter and I am finally turning 25!! Friday afternoon Tyler came home and said, "Get out of here." He said he would watch the kids and I could go out and shop with my birthday money. I actually had time to try clothes on and look around. It was really nice. Friday night we had a dinner over at Tyler's parents house. Roast, gravy, mashed potatoes, roles, strawberry and banana jello and cake. Yummy. Thanks Jan. Tyler bought me a cake from Raspberries N' Creme! It was so good! Then Saturday we pretty much did nothing. That is okay though. We went to our ward Halloween party and then came home to watch BYU fail in their attempt to beat TCU. That was a major bummer. Oh well. So it was a pretty quiet birthday, but a good one. The best birthday present though was that Bryn came out of surgery doing extremely well. Seeing her thumb wiggle was the next best present. I also loved hearing Makenna sing Happy Birthday to me. She is so funny.

IT MOVED!!!!

I saw Bryn's thumb wiggle a few times today. No not by accident. She really did move it. Go Bryn. You rock!

Bryn

These are some lyrics that reminded me of Bryn. I know they are talking about a girl in love with a guy and everything, but these words are true for Bryn.

And everyone that sees you
Always want's to know you
And everyone that knows you
Always has a smile
You're standing ovation after years of waiting
For a chance to finally shine
Everyone calls you amazing
I just call you mine

She is mine. Well...Mine and Tyler's. She is amazing. She is mine. She is unbelievable. She is an inspiration to many.
Makenna is a great big sister and a protector to Bryn and is amazing as well. They are both amazing little girls.

Bryn's 2 week Post Op Appt!

I'm a big girl now!
Bryn with her cute sock! haha. We put a sock on her hand to protect the guaze. The minute the dr. put it on she started eating it! haha
Daddy and Bryn in the waiting room before getting her cast off
At home before leaving to the dr.
Look...I have a thumb!
Mom let go of my hand.
Look...I have a thumb!
My "new" cast for the week!

Last Tuesday we went and saw Dr. Rayan. He checked the tip of her thumb and said it looked great and told us to come back in a week to take the cast off. So today we went in. I was totally prepared to take pictures. I was mentally prepared to see swelling and stitches and a new thumb. But when the cast came off I was not prepared to see the amount of swelling she had and the big "blob" she has between her fingers. I had the camera ready to take a picture and I just couldn't do it. Tyler was holding her and she was screaming. She wasn't in pain...just ticked that dr.'s were touching her again. The dr. then wrapped her hand up in guaze and told us to come back in a week. He said her finger looked perfect...just the way it is supposed too. I said, "I guess that is the difference between the parents and the professional. Because I think it looks bad." Dr. Rayan was really positive. He said that the "blob" would fall off on its own, like an umbilical cord, in about a week to 10 days. The thumb itself looks good. It's the incision that scared me. It is so hard to see your child go through something like this. I wish I could do it for her. It looked super painful. Oh man. My heart just hurts for her. But she is an amazing little girl and such a brave little girl! Maybe next week it will look a little bit better and I will be able to take a picture of the whole hand. Tyler did have to remind me that most of the post op pictures we have seen have been at least 6-10 weeks post surgery and that this is only 2 weeks after.

Ward Halloween Party

Gwen and Makenna
Yummy cookie mom!
Grammy...this is where the sprinkles go!
Robyn and Kenzie
Mirjam and Blake
Bryn and Kenna - They are the 2 cutest girls I know
Catch me Grammy
The prettiest Fairy I know
The prettiest girl in a tutu that I know

Saturday was our ward Halloween party. Makenna is a garden Fairy this year and Bryn just went in a Halloween outfit. She wasn't too fond of Makenna's old monkey costume so we decided she could just be cute in her Halloween garb! Kenna had a good time going trunk-or-treating with her grammy. Bryn got to walk around and be pushed like a princess in her stroller. We had a good time!

The Zoo

There is a cat behind kenna
Abagail, Kenna and Hanna
Abagail and Kenna feeding ducks
The kids on a tiger
Hanna and Kenna with the Gorilla
Blake, Kenna and Levi being eaten
Eating lunch
Looking at the tarantula. She was fascinated by it
The Madagascar Hissing Cockroach
Mrs. Karen was so thrilled to hold the snake. I think she was more excited than the kids!
Kenna looking at the snake
Smiley Kenna
That is one huge frog!

Kenna's school went to the zoo for a field trip last week. It was pretty cold...so we had to bundle up. The kids got to go into a warm room and learn about some animals. They were able to see a frog, snake, cockroach and tarantula. The kids thought it was pretty cool. Then they ate lunch and had free time to walk around the zoo. We went and saw the gorillas, tigers and rhinos and fed the ducks. The kids had a good time.

Pumpkins

Bryn and Kenna (How cute...they are holding hands)
Addison and Bryn

So my sis-in-law had an idea to put the girls in a pumpkin. Addison wasn't too thrilled with it. Bryn I don't think cared either way. Makenna was bummed she didn't get to get inside too!

She is Human

Haha!!! My 10.5 month old is human. She was grumpy today. But even at that...she wasn't grumpy like most kids. She just whined a little today. So she is still pretty much super human. She has been so awesome. Today she was just irritable and couldn't decide what she wanted. She did enjoy the french fries she had today. She got a bath and went to bed a little bit earlier than normal. I think she just has been a little more tired than normal. She sees the hand dr. tomorrow to be evaluated. He said he will most likely NOT take off her bandages and look at it. So I think he will just look at the tip of the finger and check that it is pink and warm. It is because we check it...but we will let the dr. check too :)
