Makenna...

Last night while Makenna was coloring she started counting the crayons. Nothing out of the normal until I hear...uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco! She was counting to 5 in Spanish. I guess watching Dora and Diego has paid off. It was so cute. Then I said, " Seis(6), Siete(7)" and she said, "ocho!" It was awesome. My 2.5 year old can count to five in Spanish.

Also...We took her binky away...FINALLY... a little over a week ago. It has been rough some nights. Last night though was really good. She slept all night. Nap time has been difficult too. Today she laid in bed talking for 1.5 hours until she fell asleep! I am not ready to give up nap time! Hopefully she will get used to not having a binky and be able to soothe herself to sleep better than she is right now.

Kenna loves baby dolls. She has been carrying them around with her. She gives them bottles, lays them down for naps, puts them in timeout :) and sings them lullaby's. She is going to make a great big sister. I ask her what her baby's names are and she says, "Baby Girl, Baby Brother and Baby Sister."

I can't believe she is almost 3. Some days are extremely hard with her and I can't stand them. Then others are just awesome. I love to go in and look at her when she is asleep. She looks so peaceful. She sure does now how to push my buttons, but she is also able to tell me she loves me and give me big hugs and kisses. I love spending time watching movies with her, reading books and playing with chalk. I miss her a lot when she goes away. She goes to have a grammy sleepover with her grammy Larsen every once in awhile. I find myself not knowing what to do without her. But it reminds me how much I love her and would miss her not being apart of our little family!

Exhaustion!

Last night was a long one for sure. Thursday is Tyler's late night getting home. I let Makenna stay up past bedtime so she could see him when he got home. While we were playing in her room she forgot to tell me she had to go potty and she went all over the carpet in her closet. So I had to strip her down, bathe her and then go get the carpet cleaner and clean up the floor. Well then Tyler finally got home. He read Kenna a story and it was time for bed. We clipped the ends of her pacifiers so hopefully she would decide she didn't like them. So she laid in bed for awhile talking to herself saying, " I want my binky fixed." haha. Well Tyler and I watched the rest of the Colorado vs. West Virginia game and then went to bed. I had just taken my sleeping medication and then heard Makenna start crying. I ran in there and she was covered in puke! It was everywhere...in her hair, pillows, blankets, jammies...everything! I yelled for Tyler to help me and we stripped the bed down and I put her in the bath. Tyler had some stuff to do for school today so I sent him back to bed. Well...I got her situated after a bath and back into bed with new blankets and all and came down to start the laundry. 20 minutes later she started crying again. I went back in and there once again was puke everywhere. ERRR! I had to clean up more blankets and sheets and wipe her down. Now onto the 3rd set of p.j's for the night. I switched the laundry over and headed back up to lay down with her in her bed. I got my blanket and pillow and laid with her. By this time it is 1am. No sooner do I lay down with my stuff she starts throwing up again. I threw my pillow and blanket on the floor and let her do her business on her blanket.  So with the 4th set of p.j.'s for the night and new bedding I put us on the floor with a blanket. She would not fall asleep. Then a few hours later I put us back on the bed. Needless to say neither of us actually fell asleep until 4:30am and then I woke up about every 30 min. Makenna woke up at 8am and started kicking me telling me to wake up. I am so super tired. She is acting fine today so I dont know what the problem was last night. But it was awful!

29 Weeks!

Okay...Don't Laugh! Ps....thanks for the shirt mom! I love it!

Can you believe it? I am 29 weeks along. If things go as planned so far...I will have the baby in 9 weeks! That is super crazy. I think there has been so much going on this pregnancy that I haven't had too much time to enjoy being pregnant. The first few months I was sick and on vacations. Then I spent a lot of time with Tyler and now that school has started I have been busy potty training, getting the girl's rooms ready and making sure Tyler keeps up with his studies. I feel huge and have felt like this pregnancy will last forever. But when I really thought about it today...I was shocked how little time I have left to enjoy the kicks, flutters and easiness of carrying around a baby inside...haha!

Fun Pictures!

Makenna loves to take pictures. Every time I snap one she immediately says, "I see my picture mommy?!" She loves to be in front of the camera. So I pulled it out today and we just took random pictures!

Showing me her funny face!
Isn't she cute?! This picture reminds me of the first day of school type picture!
Hi Mommy!

Fishy Face
Trying to go cross-eyed!
I told her to make a silly face and this is what she did!
Sup mom!

I know I am cute! haha!

She is such a silly girl. She may be handful, but she knows how to make me laugh!

I guess it's okay!

I have been waiting to post this for about 3 weeks now. I didn't want to jinx anything. But...I guess it is safe to say...Makenna is potty trained!!! A few weeks ago we had nothing to do so I thought we would try putting her in panties. So for an entire day we sat in front of the t.v. and every 20 minutes I would take her potty. Thank goodness for DVR because I could pause Spongebob and she would go happily to the restroom knowing she didn't miss a second. haha. The first week she only had ONE accident. Which I thought was amazing. Then she had one day that wasn't fantastic, but she has gone back to doing well. She wakes up dry almost every morning. She tells me when she has to go to the bathroom. I am so happy for her. It will be nice to only have 1 child in diapers at a time. I don't have a clue why all the sudden potty training clicked with her, but it did. It was a miracle.

I am going to be an Aunt!!

Yea!!! I am going to be an Aunt, Tyler is going to be an Uncle and Makenna will finally have a cousin!! Today we found out that Tyler's sister, Danielle, is pregnant! We are so excited for her and her hubby Steve. She is due at the end of April!
CONGRATS DANIELLE AND STEVE!

Repsonse to Goodness Gracious

I still don't agree with the call the ref made on Washington at the end of the BYU game. But on ESPN last night they stated the rule book on celebration.

After a score or any other play, the player in possession immediately must return the ball to an official or leave it near the dead-ball spot.
This prohibits:
(a) Kicking, throwing, spinning or carrying (including off of the field) the ball any distance that requires an official to retrieve it.
(b) Spiking the ball to the ground [Exception: A forward pass to conserve time (Rule 7-3-2-d)].
(c) Throwing the ball high into the air.
(d) Any other unsportsmanlike act or actions that delay the game.

I still think it was a dumb call, but at least it stated in the rule book that it was wrong. So it was that stupid of a call. I don't understand why it is so wrong to celebrate though after a play and why they are trying to crack down on it so much.

Goodness Gracious!

Man...could the game have been any closer? We should have trashed Washington. It shouldn't have come down to that ending field goal. Questionable call?....I think so! I don't think Washington should have had unsportsman like conduct for the celebration. Although...Last night during the Ball St. vs. Navy game a similar call was given for a celebration that shouldn't have been unsportsman like either. So it wasn't the first call. It was a bummer it had to be the game changing event. Not sure if BYU would have had a chance to block the kick. The first thought that came to my mind when Wash. scored was...hope they don't go for 2 or we are done. A win?? Yes....a good win?...No. Unga should have held onto the ball and we should have had that TD. Collie was dropping balls left and right. And what was with Chambers hitting that guy from Washington? I would like to know what was said to tick him off so bad. I'm glad though that the Washington player that was carted of the field is awake and moving. Wouldn't want anyone to get seriously injured!

I had fun watching the game with some girls in our ward. Tyler went to watch the game with some guys in our ward. Let's just say between food, pregnancy and nerves with the game....I had major heartburn! Can't wait till next Saturday when I can look for Steven on the sidelines. Hope we can pull a big win over UCLA....GO COUGARS!!!

Saturday!

Yea!! BYU will be playing Washington this Saturday and it will be on FSN!!! I am excited that I get to watch it on my T.V. They play all the stinking games on Mountain Channel. I am kinda bummed that I will have to be flipping channels back in forth. BYU vs. Washington at 2pm and OU vs. Cin. at 2:30pm. My 2 favorite teams all at once. Going to have to make some chips and dip!!! Yea!!
