Michael is even in the picture thanks to my mom....haha. If you look REALLY closely...my mom is holding Michael's Christmas picture from last year in her hand so that he could be a part of the photo!!

Grammy and Triston

Tyler's cousin Jemece just a cute baby boy. He is only a few months old. Makenna just thought he was the coolest thing. She kept saying, "baby mommy...baby!!" She wanted to give him lots of hugs and kisses. Grammy helped Makenna hold him and Makenna gave him a kiss on his forehead. It was so cute!

Laundry Basket

Makenna found a laundry basket at Aunt Linda's! She came out of the kitchen with it over her head! Then she found some frosted flakes. She went over to the front door and sat between the door and the storm door eating her frosted flakes. She didn't think anyone could see her!!

Sidenote

Other than having a pretty good week....we had a pretty stressful week too! Traveling with a 2 year old is not too much fun! It is actually quite hard and sometimes you wonder why you even decided to leave your house and take a vacation. :) Makenna has been pretty tough to handle with being out all day and not being on her normal, boring stay-at-home life. But I do have to say that she did extremely well when we traveled to SLC today and did some shopping and things. She has been around a lot of new people!! Tyler's cousin Jemece has a new little baby. He is a few months old. Makenna loves looking at him. She just thinks babies are the coolest thing. And today she was around a lot of kids that were a little bit younger than her and it was funny to see how motherly she is! She kept telling the little boys to "not touch" and "no no" I also found out that she is a little tattle-tail! haha. Oh well...whatcha gonna do??

The Week Before Christmas

So...It has been a long week!!! Last Sunday we had Christmas with Tyler's family! It was actually quite exciting. I got the coolest new toy! I got an awesome Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTI!! It is my new baby!!...haha j/k :). Then on Tuesday morning we hit the airport at 6:00am and flew out to Utah! My family and Tyler's family were both going to Utah for the holidays. We spent Tuesday-Friday with Tyler's mom, sister, aunt, uncle and cousins. We had a lot of fun shopping and hanging out. Tyler finally made up his mind on what he wanted for Christmas from his mom....so he came home with and XBOX 360...his new toy!! Then today...Saturday...we went up to SLC to see Tyler's best friend Moki and his family! It was good to see them and Moki is always fun to be around. Then later I got to see one of my good friends Rashel and her family. I have missed seeing her!! Tyler and I got to watch the BYU/UCLA Vegas Bowl game at my grandparents with my grandpa, grandma, uncles and cousins. I canNOT believe UCLA missed that field goal! That was absolutely crazy! My family drove to Vegas for the game and will be here in Utah tomorrow (sunday). I am excited to see them! So overall...we have had a pretty good week!!!

Weather!!

A lot of you have been wondering about the weather. The ice storm is over. There is still a lot of ice on the trees though. The roads are clear, but the grass, parking lots and other items are still covered in sheets of ice. It rained pretty much all day long. It wasn't pouring but it was consistent! Schools weren't shut down today because of the roads....they were shut because they have NO power!!! Almost 500,000 homes have been without power. Right now there is about 150,000-200,000 homes in Oklahoma City alone without power! Can you believe that? We have been blessed that our power only went out for a few hours while we were sleeping. My sister-in-law Danielle and her husband are staying at my in-laws because there power is out! The power company says it could take upt to 10 days to restore power. Some people have had power...then lost it for a day...then gotten it back for a day....then lost it again!! Hopefully the ice will melt and the trees that have fallen will be cleaned up and people can have power again!
BUT....we are expected to have about 2-5 inches of snow this coming weekend!! Wait a minute....I thought I moved away from Utah :)

ICE!!!

There was about 1 inch of ice covering both our cars. We only have a 1 car garage and we have other items that need to go in there!
This was a bush outside our house!
Icicles on our house!
This is our other neighbors tree! It is starting to sag on top of the garage!
This is our neighbors tree. It broke directly in half. Some stayed standing and the other half fell straight to the ground. It made a big bang. The ice gets so heavy that trees fall and snap in half. As of about 1 hr ago....513,000 people were without power in Oklahoma. Can you believe that. That is the most OK has ever had in the history of the state!

Outside!

Makenna loved eating the icicles!

Makenna had a hard time with wanting to keep her gloves on! She had a fun time jumping in the puddles and picking up pieces of ice! She was mad when I said it was time to come in!

Taken for Granted

I thought I was being good about getting foods that didn't need water or heat to eat them. I got bottles and jugs of water. I thought I was prepared for a power outage! The power went off last night for about 5 seconds and then came back on! That was around 9:45pm. Then I woke up at 5am to absolutely NO power. As I lay there in bed trying to figure out how we would survive the day I started to panic. I had water...but because I didn't have enough arms at the time...the water had gotten left in the trunk of the car. No big deal right??? No!!! HUGE deal. The ice storm had put about 3 inches of ice on our car and we could not enter the trunk. I thought about using warm water to melt the ice. But we had no water and no way to heat it. Then I worried about if we drove to my in-laws if we could get there safely with the ice on the roads. There aren't huge hills here, but there are little rolling hills that can get you into trouble on the ice. I laid in bed for an hour not being able to sleep trying to think of ways to keep my family warm. After praying about a million times....I heard the train come by and make tons of noise and then like magic...the power came back on. I was then able to fall back asleep! It's amazing the things we can take for granted. Tyler laughed at me because one of my 1st thoughts was, "if i have no water...then I can't brush my teeth!!" haha. But luckily we have power...for the moment at least! Hope you all are staying safe and warm today!!

Making Cookies

When my mom was here...we were going to make gingerbread cookies. We ran out of time. So since church was canceled today...I thought Makenna and I could have some good mother-daughter time! So we made the gingerbread cookies! Makenna helped me roll out the dough and cut the dough. She kept saying, "I help mommy!" It was so cute. She was also putting flour on herself too! haha!

She kept saying push when she was cutting the cookie dough!
Here are the decorated cookies. I am not really good at decorating...so here is the finished product! They tasted good and weren't burnt! I was very proud of myself...haha!

Watching T.V.

Makenna was laying on the floor watching Spongebob!!She didn't know I was taking this picture!
When she saw me with the camera....she pretended to be asleep! What a stinker!

Playing in the Kitchen!

Since grandma was here visiting...Makenna thinks she is allowed in the kitchen now. When my mom was here she let Makenna come in the kitchen and help her. Tyler and I usually put up the gate so she can't get into stuff. Well since my mom left she thinks it's still okay. So...we are trying to let her go in there and we are teaching her what she can and can't have. The past few days have been okay. We put some magnets on the fridge so that she could play with them while I was cooking dinner. The animal farm magnets also sing when you press them!! She was dancing all around the kitchen! It was so cute!

Bee Bee

Makenna loves her "bee bee" meaning her binky! She loves it! So she was even more excited when she found 2 of them at the same time!!

It's That Time of Year!!!

Oh my goodness!! It is COLD here! Today is our first round of ice for the season! Oklahoma doesn't get the pretty white fluffy, fun to play in snow :)! We get the freezing, rock hard, slippery ice! Today church was canceled due to slick roads. We have a huge ice storm moving in and the freezing rain from last night made the roads into one big ice skating rink! A lot of people don't really understand how bad these storms can be! Schools shut down...businesses shut down and activities are canceled. The ice gets really heavy on power lines and some people end up without power! So yesterday ...of course... Wal-mart was packed with people stocking up before the storm hit...because once it does...you can't get out...or at least you won't want to put yourself out on the roads!!! So I may be staying put until it thaws out. It is supposed to get worse tonight and in the morning but then move out tomorrow afternoon. So hopefully Tuesday it won't be too bad. Tyler also has his last final for the semester on Wednesday!!!

Silence...I Kill You!!!

Haha...inside joke huh mom!!

I had to work on Tuesday and Wednesday so Makenna stayed at home with my mom. My was doing the laundry (thanks mom) and had the basket on the floor. Makenna found her life jacket in the kitchen and put it on. She got it all strapped on and then climbed inside the baket and said "boat". She got all settled. Then after saying "boat" she kept saying "pool". She is a nut!

We went to Sams and bought some toliet paper. I took some out of the package and Makenna thought she would fill the open space in the bag. She climbed into the bag and fit her whole body in the space where 9 rolls of toliet paper used to be. It was sooo funny!!

Anyways...My mom came to visit this past week. She came in Sunday night and left this afternoon (friday). We had such a blast. Her and Makenna had a lot of together too! We went shopping, watched a movie, hung out and just laughed our heads off! Makenna enjoyed spending time with grandma. She espeically loved that grandma let her into things mom and dad don't. We keep her out of the kitchen and my mom let her in there the whole week!
