Lately...

Lately we have been busy. Soccer season is almost coming to an end. Only a few more games left. Makenna will be graduating from kindergarten on May 21 and her last day of school is May 23. Brynlee's last day of school in May 21. I can't believe summer is almost here. Bryn is finishing up her session of gymnastics. Both girls start swim lessons again tomorrow for the rest of the month of May. Bryn will be finishing up her speech lessons at the school and taking a summer vacation from that. She will continue private speech lessons during the summer. We are preparing for my brother-in-laws wedding that is going to be in August. We are looking forward to frequent lake trips, trips to the pool and lots of fun this summer. Makenna is reading up a storm and has been doing chapter books. I'm so proud of the girls. I sure do love them and love watching them grow. They are both so special in their own ways. I can't believe how smart they are. They are going to give me a run for my money as they get older. I love being their mother!

Bryn is so funny. She is more interested in the snack after the game and eating and drinking durning the game than she is in kicking the ball. She makes me smile with her quirky personality. I sure love her.

My family after graduation

I had the opportunity to meet my family in Utah for my 2 little brothers graduation from BYU. I was able to go without the girls. They stayed home with my best friend, Jenn, and with Tyler. Tyler's little brother Dallin also graduated from BYU. I flew up on Wednesday with Tyler's mom. Thursday I was able to hang out with my family and run some errands. We went to commencement and then back to grandma's house. Thursday night I went to Dallin's graduation and engagement party. Late Thursday night I got really sick. I was super sick to my stomach all day Friday. Friday afternoon was graduation. That night we had a graduation party at grandma's with the family. I was so sick I couldn't eat anything.  I was so bummed that I was finally able to go to anything I wanted and be with my family and I was super sick at home. I felt better Saturday morning, very weak, but not as sick to my stomach. So I went with my family up to Salt Lake to the new City Creek Mall. It was fun to go shopping with my sister. We went to Crown Burger for lunch and then drove back down to grandma's. We helped my older brother box things up at his house. I ended up feeling so sick I curled up and fell asleep. I ended up going to the hospital that night. Come to find out I just had a virus, but received an IV to get nausea medicine and be rehydrated. Sunday my parents left to go back home and I went over to Tyler's sister's house to have breakfast with Ty's family. We had yummy waffles and then we headed to the airport to come home. I am so proud of my 3 little brothers for all their accomplishments and graduation from BYU! I'm really glad I got to come and be apart of the festivities...even though I got sick.

We had a great Easter again! We woke up Easter morning and the girls found baskets that the Easter bunny left. They searched their baskets and then searched the house for eggs. We hurried and got ready and went to church. After church we did a quick photo shoot to capture a few pictures of the girls in their dresses. After naps we headed over to our friends, the Jeffries, house and had dinner and an egg hunt. Brad met us over there since Jan was still out of town. Jenn made her famous and super yummy banana cupcakes. We grilled steaks, had cheesy potatoes, Thomas jello, homemade rolls and asparagus. The kids loved playing together and enjoyed their easter egg hunt. Over all it was a great Easter!

After church I tried to grab a few shots of the girls. The lighting was horrible, the girls wouldn't sit still and they didn't want to look at the camera. Oh well...I tried. I got a couple shots.

Mommy/Daughter Date

For awhile I have wanted to take Makenna on a date. I feel like I don't get enough one on one time with her since she is in school most of the day. Tonight I took her to see the movie Mirror Mirror. It was a cute movie and she really liked it. Afterwards she said she was hungry and wanted Olive Garden. I took her to eat. She wanted the meal that I usually get, baked ziti. They don't make a kids size portion,  so I ordered one and split it with her. After that we went to Braums and got ice cream. She was very tired when we got home, 9:45pm, but she had a good time. I loved playing 'I spy' out the window and playing the rhyming game. It was fun to learn that her favorite color is now orange, her BFF is Emma, bacon is still her favorite food and sour punch straws are her favorite candy. She also loves reading and her favorite thing at school right now is the play the older kids put on. She is so funny and I love her so much.
